I enjoy macro photography with flowers, landscape photography, and travel pictures. My photos are an expression of a life-long love of art and all things beautiful. I shoot because I cannot keep myself from capturing beautiful images and wish to share this enjoyment with others. Let me know what you think.

HDR photography results from the combination of several images taken at progressively higher shutter speeds. By using different shutter speeds the images range from very dark (but you can see more detail in lighter spots in the image) to very light (when you can see the detail in the shadows). I use Photomatix to combine them into an image that can be very compelling

I recently had an older SLR changed to allow it to capture infrared images. Infrared is a spectrum of light that cannot be seen. According to Wikipedia, "In infrared photography, the film or image sensor used is sensitive to infrared light. The part of the spectrum used is referred to as near-infrared to distinguish it from far-infrared, which is the domain of thermal imaging. Wavelengths used for photography range from about 700 nm to about 900 nm. Usually an "infrared filter" is used; this lets infrared (IR) light pass through to the camera, but blocks all or most of the visible light spectrum (the filter thus looks black or deep red)."
