JMU photos by Frank Doherty, a Shenandoah Valley fine art photographer.
Frank was JMU's Director of Institutional Research for more than 30 years, thus his access to fine photographic opportunities at JMU. In his spare time obviously!
JMU on Veterans Day
This fall JMU students who have served in the military displayed hundreds of small flags on the Quad. What a grand idea that I assume will continue next year.
Wilson Hall on a Cold Winter Evening
JMU is a beautiful campus. The most famous building is Wilson Hall on the Quad. I took this image on a very cold winter evening.

"Jimmy" in Spring
This life-size statue of James Madison was installed more than 10 years ago. It is absolutely gorgeous in the spring with the flowers. Many students preparing to graduate will have their picture taken in front of this statue. Some actually sit in Jimmy's arms.
Wilson Hall in the Winter is Beautiful
This is another Wilson Hall winter pic. We had a very beautiful snow, and I wanted to get to the campus before it melted. The two folks just happened to walk into the image. Little things like this make an image “pop.”
I've traveled to many different parts of the U.S. and overseas. There are few places I've been that have been as nice as the Shenandoah Valley. Hope you enjoy these images.
